On the afternoon of May 29, 2024, a signing ceremony took place at the Nie Rongzhen Marshal Museum to establish a joint "Grand Ideological and Political Course" practical teaching base between the School of Marxism of Chongqing University and the Museum, which has been listed as a National "Grand Ideological and Political Course" practical teaching base. The event was attended by key figures including Yan Mingyou, the Party Secretary and Director of the Nie Rongzhen Marshal Museum, along with Deputy Directors Ou Yulan and Yang Yan, and other staff from Propaganda and Education, Cultural Relics, External Liaison and etc.
Representatives from Chongqing University included Prof. Chen Ke, the Secretary of the Party Committee, Yuan Li, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Discipline Inspection Commission Secretary, and several CPC members from the School. The "Hongyan Lecture Group" and "Yan'an Spirit Lecture Group" were also in attendance. The ceremony was hosted by Yang Yan.
Yan Mingyou provided an overview of the Nie Rongzhen Marshal Museum, highlighting its exhibition tours and special activities. He emphasized the museum's designation as a "Special Practice Teaching Base for Scientific Spirit" and a "Special Practice Teaching Base for Party History and the History of New China," an honor bestowed by a consortium of eight departments, including the Office of the Ministry of Education. This designation underscores the museum's role in promoting educational values and historical understanding.
Yan Mingyou also stated that the conditions for establishing the joint practical teaching base were optimal, and there was a mutual aspiration for long-term collaboration between the School and the museum. He expressed a future plan to enhance their partnership, combining their unique strengths to develop a series of high-quality educational resources.Moreover, he expected that the joint efforts in creating the "Grand Ideological and Political Course" practical teaching base would significantly contribute to the preservation of revolutionary heritage and the promotion of our Party’s red legacy to undertake the educational mission of both sides.
Prof. Chen Ke reviewed the long-term achievements of cooperation between the Nie Rongzhen Marshal Museum and the School, highly praising the Museum's unique advantages in ideological and political education,which has demonstrated its significant role in practice as a national-level museum, a national patriotism education demonstration base, a national defense education demonstration base, and also a national social science popularization and education base.
He emphasized the importance of collaboration in implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping's directives on the "Grand Ideological and Political Course," revolutionary cultural relic work, ideological and political education, Party discipline, and clean culture construction. By pooling their strengths, both parties can enhance practical teaching, conduct joint research on revolutionary relics, develop high-quality resources, and promote Party history learning, revolutionary tradition education, patriotism, and ideological education. This integrated approach maximizes the impact of revolutionary relics on education and fosters their synergy with ideological and political education.
Yan Mingyou and Prof. Chen Ke, representing their respective parties, signed the "Cooperation Agreement for the Joint Development of the 'Grand Ideological and Political Course' Practical Teaching Base" and unveiled the plaque for the "Chongqing University 'Grand Ideological and Political Course' Practical Teaching Base."
Following the signing ceremony, representatives from the School's Communist Party of China (CPC) members engaged in educational activities focusing on Party discipline and integrity at the Nie Rongzhen Marshal Museum. Through their exploration of Marshal Nie Rongzhen's legacy, the faculty and students profoundly recognized the significance of Party discipline as the CPC's lifeline, essential for preserving the unity and solidarity of the Party. They acknowledged that integrity and self-discipline are the foundational expectations for CPC members and officials.The participants pledged to diligently study and embody the CPC's disciplinary mandates, to conscientiously adhere to the Party's regulations, and to continuously enhance their political awareness. They are committed to upholding the discipline and integrity standards through concrete actions.
