U.S. passport card
DHS trusted traveler cards (Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI, FAST)
U.S. Department of Defense ID, including IDs issued to dependents
Permanent resident card
Border crossing card
DHS-designated enhanced driver's license
Federally recognized, tribal-issued photo ID
HSPD-12 PIV card
Foreign government-issued passport
Canadian provincial driver's license or Indian and Northern Affairs Canada card
Transportation worker identification credential
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Employment Authorization Card (I-766)
U.S. Merchant Mariner Credential
Keep in mind that this list may change on or after January 22, 2018 when REAL ID goes into effect nationwide.
According to New York's DMV website, found HERE, the state does not expect mandatory REAL IDs until October 1, 2020, despite the current extension (10/10/18).
After 9/11, REAL ID was created for security measures when traveling domestically on an aircraft, accessing Federal facilities, and entering nuclear power plants.
